H.P. Jin

Co-Founder, President and Chief Executive Officer

H.P. Jin co-founded TeleNav in 1999, leveraging his expertise in location and wireless Internet technologies and his years of experience in business management and strategy development. Prior to starting TeleNav, he served as senior strategy consultant for the McKenna Group where he developed business strategies for companies in telecom and IT. Before that, H.P. worked at McKinsey & Company as a business strategy and management consultant, advising wireless and landline operators on data and wireless strategies. H.P. was also a technical director at LINCSS/Loral, where he was involved in R&D management, strategic alliance initiatives and business model development.

H.P. holds a Ph.D. in Guidance, Navigation and Control (Aeronautics and Astronautics department), a Ph.D. minor in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University and a Bachelor of Science from the Harbin Institute of Technology in China.

Bob Rennard

Co-Founder and Chief Technical Officer

Bob Rennard is a co-founder of TeleNav and was a principal engineer in designing the Global Positioning System (GPS). Bob has years of experience in commercial product development management, serving most recently as executive director of product development at Cyberstar/Loral. While there, he was responsible for developing satellite-based broadband Internet delivery systems. Bob also held the position of vice president of engineering at Loral Integrated Navigation Communication Satellite System (LINCSS). Prior to Loral, he was a vice president of GPS Navigation Systems at Stanford Telecom and an acquisition program manager in the U.S. Air Force.

Bob holds a Ph.D. in Aerospace Science from the Air Force Institute of Technology, a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Wyoming, and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Ohio State University.

Douglas Miller

Chief Financial Officer

With more than 20 years of executive experience in finance for global high-tech companies, Doug Miller brings a wealth of financial management knowledge to TeleNav. Most recently, he served as vice president and CFO of LongBoard, Inc., a privately-held, venture-backed provider of telecommunications software. Doug also helped lead the successful Initial Public Offering (IPO) of Synplicity, Inc., a provider of electronic design software, where he served as senior vice president and CFO. He has assisted in completing several other IPOs for companies in the software, fabless semiconductor and Internet industries.

Doug has previously served as CFO for 3Dlabs Inc., Ltd, a manufacturer of semiconductor devices. He was also a partner at Ernst & Young LLP where he serviced global high-tech manufacturing and computer software companies.

Doug holds a Bachelor of Science in Commerce from the University of Santa Clara and is a certified public accountant.

Bill Bettencourt

Chief Marketing and Sales Officer

Bill Bettencourt leads marketing and sales programs for TeleNav. Bill is a seasoned wireless executive with more than 10 years of experience at AirTouch Cellular (now Verizon Wireless) where he was a major contributor in building the company into one of the most valuable franchises in the wireless industry during the 1990's.

Bill's executive experience also includes serving as COO of a successful Silicon Valley Web startup Ingenio, where he drove the growth of the business. Early in his career, Bill started in brand management/marketing in the consumer packaged goods industry. He managed large national food and beverage brands for companies like Frito Lay/PepsiCo and Del Monte Foods.

Bettencourt received a Masters of Business Administration in marketing and finance from Cornell University and a Bachelor of Arts in biology from Whitman College.

Y.C. Chao

Co-Founder and Vice President of Research and Development

Y.C. Chao is a co-founder of TeleNav and has extensive experience in navigation technology implementation as well as software and hardware development. His career includes a track record of success in wireless location technology, network-assisted navigation algorithm development, and the implementation of real-time embedded systems for navigation applications. Y.C. was a GPS software engineer at SnapTrack, where he worked on network-assisted GPS chipset performance, evaluation and software development. Prior to SnapTrack, Y.C. was a GPS receiver engineer for Trimble Navigation.

Y.C. holds a Ph.D. in Aeronautics and Astronautics from Stanford University, a Master of Science from the University of Texas Aerospace Engineering Center for Space Research, and a Bachelor of Science from National Taiwan University.

Alex Ognjanac

Vice President of Sales

Alex Ognjanac oversees TeleNav's sales and customer support organization. Before joining TeleNav in 2005, Alex was vice president of sales, Western Region, at American Wireless. There he was in charge of distribution, fulfillment and activation of various national carrier programs through independent sales channels, including Nextel, Verizon, Echostar/Dish and Boost Mobile. Prior to his tenure at American Wireless, Alex enjoyed successful sales careers with Nextel Communications, PC Magazine and Xerox Corporation, where he was nationally recognized as a top sales performer..

Alex holds a degree from California State University/Long Beach in Marketing.

Sal Dhanani

Co-Founder and Senior Director of Marketing

Sal Dhanani is a co-founder of TeleNav and brings years of experience in product marketing, product management, business strategy and operations within the telecom industry. Prior to TeleNav, Sal worked with the McKenna Group, a leading strategy-consulting firm, where he developed market entry, product launch and expansion strategies for various start-ups, telecom companies and telecom infrastructure providers. Before joining the McKenna Group, Sal was responsible for product development and management at Schlumberger Ltd., Test and Transactions Group.

Sal completed coursework through Stanford University's IEEM program and holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Washington.

Hassan Wahla

Senior Director of Business Development

Hassan Wahla has more than 14 years of experience in the wireless and telematics industries. Hassan is responsible for establishing and managing partnerships with wireless carriers, content providers, channel partners and device manufacturers. Prior to joining TeleNav, he managed the GPS Tracking Product Portfolio at Nextel Communications. He also developed and implemented the Consumer LBS strategy for Nextel. Hassan has held several other senior management positions including vice president of business development at Wireless Multimedia Solutions, director of business development at MicroStrategy, Inc, and senior consultant at Maritime Power Corporation.

Hassan holds a Master of International Affairs from Columbia University, Master of Science in Management from Stevens Institute of Technology and Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Virginia Tech.

Joie Lê

General Counsel

Joie Lê manages and oversees all legal matters for TeleNav, including commercial transactions, corporate governance, intellectual property, immigration, litigation and board matters. She joined TeleNav from Kineto Wireless, Inc., where, as director of IP and associate general counsel, she was instrumental in helping Kineto expand its patent portfolio by multiple folds. Prior to joining Kineto, Joie held various senior in-house legal positions, including director of licensing of Simplex Solutions, Inc. when the company went public in 2001. Multi-lingual and trained in multi-party mediation, she was in private practice prior to going in-house. Joie received her undergraduate degree from Santa Clara University, and holds a Juris Doctorate from the School of Law. She is admitted to the United States District Court, Northern District, California and is a member of the California State Bar.
